Aplysia punctata (Cuvier, 1803)
23 November, 2003.
Maiden Island, Oban on the west coast.
Found at 12 metres in 11.5° C water. A mating agregation of 4 animals
all approx 85mm long were seen among the kelp debris. They were seperated
and placed about 250mm apart and immedately started toward one another,
some rearing up to 'taste' the water as in the lower image above. They
were back together in 5 minutes
Nikon 90SX with 105mm lens in Subal housing and housed SB26 flash.
